Board Elections

The Nominating Committee has selected three candidates for the upcoming three open seats on the Meridian Trust Board of Directors. The nominees are:

  • Mike Bleakley, current Board Vice Chairman. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2018.  Mike is the Deputy Director for the Wyoming Retirement System. His work experience includes tax accounting and financial planning. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado.
  • Garth Shanklin, current Board Secretary. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2016.  He was employed in the Wyoming higher education field for over 30 years and retired as the chair of the Casper College departments of Addictionology and Psychology. He serves on the Wyoming Retirement System’s Board. Garth holds graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Colorado State University.
  • Kim Lee, current Board Member. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2018. “Chief Lee” retired in 2016 after 43 years in the public safety industry. He served on the Riverton Regional Airport Board, Wyoming Public Safety Communications Commission, and many other boards and agencies in connection to public safety, emergency response, and volunteer fire protection.

In accordance with credit union bylaws and rules, the Board of Directors will be announced at our 2021 Annual Meeting. With three open positions on the board and three nominees, there will not be an election this year unless further candidates apply through petition.

Per Meridian Trust Bylaws, Article 5, Section 1: A brief statement of qualifications and biographical data in a form approved by the Board of Directors will be included for each nominee submitted by the nominating committee with the written notice to all eligible members.

Deadline: Petitions must be returned by end of business day on March 15th, 2021, complete with a minimum of 1% of the membership's signatures.
Signatures from individuals who are joint owners, but who do not have a primary share account of their own, are not valid. If there are no nominations by petition, the candidates stated above will be put forth on the election ballot.
