COVID-19 Updates

Our Call Center is handling a large volume of inbound calls right now with minimal staffing. We are experiencing longer than normal hold times as a result. We apologize about any extended wait, and thank you for your patience.

Also, in two counties – Laramie County in Wyoming and Larimer County in Colorado – for the health and safety of our members and employees, masks are required for those entering branches in Cheyenne, WY and Wellington, CO.

These mask mandates were issued by authorities in each of the two states and we are complying with their regulations.

There are some things you can do from home, to keep yourself safe by avoiding person-to-person interactions. For example:

Make an online loan payment

Transfer money – use Online Banking (see top right of any page on our website), use the Meridian Trust Mobile App, or contact us at 800.726.5644

Deposit a check – You can use our Mobile App to deposit a check from home (or anywhere!) simply by using your phone

Need cash? Access any of our branch or CO-OP ATMs

Need a loan?  Apply for a personal loan, mortgage, or credit card online

Please contact your branch with any questions you may have on local social distancing guidelines or to learn more about conducting your business online or the phone.

The health and well-being of our members, employees and the communities we serve all continue to be our top priority. To do our part to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus, we’ve taken steps that still allow you to conduct your regular financial business with us, while at the same time, ensure the health and safety of you as well as our staff.

In the meantime we invite you to watch the brief 60-second message from our CEO Kim Withers on how to be aware of potential scams during this time, and we also invite you to review the helpful information provided below on services, programs, and information that can be helpful to you.

    Keeping Your Money Safe

As the economy is being impacted by COVID-19, please know that Meridian Trust has been a safe and sound financial institution since 1954. We have always prioritized long-term financial stability over quick gains, and our approach to smart, conservative lending has enabled us to be in a strong financial position.

Know that your money is federally insured by the NCUA.

  • We would like to encourage members to take advantage of the many services we provide that allow for remote access to your accounts, including Online Banking, Online Bill Pay and our Mobile App. With the Mobile App, you can even deposit checks from the comfort and convenience of your home. If you have any questions or need assistance in setting any of these up, including direct deposit or mobile deposit of your checks, please call us at 1.800.726.5644. We'd be happy to help.
  • We recognize COVID-19 can cause financial hardship for some individuals, families, and businesses. Because of that, we are offering some financial flexibility for members who have been impacted:

You can request to defer payments on the following types of loans:

    Mortgage Assistance

Meridian Trust is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting issues. Our management team is working to ensure we stand ready to meet the needs of borrowers, including loan forbearances due to inability to pay during this time.

There is still a lot of uncertainty remaining including how long the crisis will last. We stand ready to discuss your situation and help in ways that make sense.

Mortgage relief depends on the type of loan you have.  Fannie Mae, FHLB, VA, FHA or a portfolio loan have different requirements for forbearance or payment deferral.  This distinction can lead to confusion.

  • Before calling our Call Center to ask about your stimulus check payment, please be sure to review the information provided by the IRS to determine your payment eligibility, status and distribution method.

To help you understand how you can get your payment quickly and safely, we wanted to share with you the following information. First, the IRS has created the Coronavirus Economic Impact Payments site. This site provides information that includes eligibility, payment amount, tools for non-filers and payment methods and status.

Keep in mind that neither Meridian Trust nor the IRS will contact you directly - via call, text, email or social media - to ask for personal or account information, even related to your economic impact payment. The IRS will also not require you to provide personal information in order to cash the check. Additional fraud prevention tips and information related to Economic Impact Payments can be found in the section below titled Financial Education and Avoiding Scams.

  • We also invite you to learn more through our Enrich Financial Wellness program, as well as learning more about Coronavirus scams. See the information below.
